Default Black Screen

Hello, I have an LCD monitor which the screen is going completely black and I was wondering if it was worth getting fixed? It is definately the monitor as I tried another monitor on my HD and all was well. It is not hibernation or anything like power saving as these settings are all off. It is not bulbs or backlights as the screen is completely black even with a flashlight no trace of graphics. The power is on light is green everything still working. If I turn monitor off then back on I can use everything for about 3 seconds then it goes black again and I can do this repeatedly. I also tried monitor on diff HD same thing. Tech I spoke to said it could be anything inside not worth fixing but I just wanted second opinion. Thanks for any opinions in advance.

Hello!
What make and model is it please?
I had the same problem with my monitor: benq FP71E
The manufacturers replaced it for free because it was under warranty.

Unlucky that its not under warranty. Unfortunately i never found out why mine was acting like it was or how much it would be to repair such a fault so i`m afraid i cant really help.
Sorry bout that
