Default How can you tell?

I have been given a HP computer from my daughter, it's a bit old but works fine. I have just installed Win98 but it did have Win ME. Now I have a problem with the monitor, I can't seem to find a make on the monitor, so as to put the software in. The only thing on the back, is a seiral No:S5A1-CW2. The problem is that I can't get anymore than 16 colours on it and I am sure that it had more than that when it was running Win ME. It has a built in vidio card that is in the motherboard.
Hope you can help

Hi Walter,

It's not the monitor you need to worry about - that will just be a HP monitor that has standard windows drivers.

You need to find out what video card you have, and install the drivers for that. Do you know what model computer it is? HP Evo, or some such? It should be located on the front of the case.

The only thing on the cover is Packard Bell and on the side it has I media, nothing else.

Imedia is a product range of Packard Bell - there should be a label or something somewhere that will tell us the model name, or at least a serial number.

Look for either of those.

Hi, I have gone all over the cover and the only thing that I can find is a Label on the bottom with the: ALLEGRA 6858370000 and ADAL 13803507 and the Motherboard has this FC with a small c inside the big C.
Not sure what to do now?
