Hey Free,

Welcome to PCHF. We have a wonderful group of techs here, and I am sure that we can help you figure out what is wrong.

First of all, are you sure that the new RAM you installed is the same capacity and clockspeed as your other stick? Your laptop is set up with dual channel support, and requires both sticks to be the same, so, you can have two 256, or two 512, or two 1024, but not one of a 512 and one of a 1024. Also, they must be the same clockspeed.

Looking forward to your reply,

TTFN

Hey Free,

Actually, it's more than just the amount of memory. According to your laptop specs, the sticks must have the same clockspeed as well. Run Belarc from my signature, and post back the information about the memory modules.

Looking forward to your reply,

That should be fine. Let me see if I can find out anything else that could be causing that. Will be back tomorrow.
