Default [Answered] DVI cable doesn't work, "no signal"

I just bought an Acer monitor with DVI-D input (and analog) I have a Radeon Powercolor9250 128MB AGP video card. The box indicates it is a DVI-I capable video card.

When I try using the DVI option the monitor displays "no signal" if I connect the analog to the pc it regains its signal. I cannot seem to find a spot to change the monitors function from analog to DVI, nor can I find a spot to change the Video card from Analog to digital.

Am I really missing much anyways?

Thanks
Swizz

frequently there are two dvi ports on the back of the monitors; you may have inadvertantly popped into the second one. Check to see if there is a second one, and give that a shot.

also, are you using an adapter on the pc end, or does the video card come dvi prepared?

It's strange that there are no options to switch between DVI and analog - is there an on screen menu that you can get into?

Turns out there is a setting in the Radeon program that requires you to ramp up all options to maximum before it will acknowledge digital quality in order to activate the DVI port.

Sheesh

It did until I overclocked my motherboard and had to remove the battery, now I can't find the settings that I originally changed.

God bless this mess which I create for myself daily.
