Do you leave the monitor plugged in all the time and then just switch on via the front button?
In standby it should be Orange and then Green for on.

Ok keep it plugged in all the time, make sure the monitor plugs are secure and have no bent pins.
CRT = Cathode Ray Tube
TFT = Thin Film Transistor

Ok! My moniter is a Samsung Syncmaster 173v. When I on my pc, the montior did not turn on, nor did the front button work. I have to unplug the power cord and wait for a while before pluging it back again.
