Question crt monitor with blinking cursor

I replaced my dying monitor with another monitor, which was working with another computer, and got a black screen with a blinking cursor. This also occured when the pc was new. Any suggestions on how to get pc to interface with monitor

Welcome to PC Help Forums

It seems there is nothing wrong with your monitor but rather your pc is at fault.
What operating system are you running and have you had any other error messages?
