Angry [Fixed] White screen when turning off help!

I have a Hewlett Packard PC. The LCD screen is acting very weird, when turned off, in standby mode, or when the computer is turned off also. Whenever the screen turns off it sort of bleeds in white, if you understand? I recently downloaded some music and i thought maybe I would have a virus but the problem is that nothing bad happens while the screen is on, it is a normal screen and works just as well. I've had this screen for about 2-3 years, I have no clue what went wrong, this just started yesterday!

Hi alyssap,

Welcome to PCHF.

When your PC goes into standby, normally, the power led on the screen turns from blue to orange. Does this still happen when you turn off your PC?

It's unlikely to be a virus to be honest alyssap, and it's most likely to be hardware related.

Sounds like a backlit fault with the monitor, on average, but dont quote me on this, they are only supposed to last a maximum of 3 years and then have to be replaced. I stand to be corrected if im wrong.

It may just be a glitch alssap, or what MadGamer suggested. Could be early signs of failure, but there is now way to knowing for certain without being able to reproduce this problem again.

Will mark this one as fixed for now.
