Default LCD monitor flashing...

A few weeks back I went on a trip for the weekend and turned off my PC when I got back three days later and booted it up the LCD monitor started to flash every half second or so on and off. After about 15 minutes of this it corrected itself and would stay on the whole time. Since then i have had to turn my computer off and the same thing would happen. However each time it would take longer for the monitor to work. Now i cant get it to work at all, it just flashes black to normal veiwing very fast. The green power light also flashes off and on with it. Its like the monitor is not getting all the power it should. When i turn the monitor on with out my PC being on it seems to work fine. But then if i turn my PC off and leave the monitor on it still flashes. Does anyone have any clue as to whats going on or is it completley shot? Thanks in advance.

I'd say it's a faulty power supply in the monitor - give the manufaturers a call and see if it's still under warranty.

Have you tried unpluging the power cord hold in the power buton for around a miniute without the power cord pluged in. Then plug the power cord back in and see if that works. Just a shot in the dark but your power supply might just be overloaded.

Ive hooked up the monitor to another PC and it did the exact same thing so im pretty sure that its the monitor thats messed up not the video card.

I also tried holding the power button in for a minute while having the power cord unplugged and it didnt seem to do anything thanks for the idea madmatt.
I even tried changing the powercord since its the same connector as a PC but that didnt seem to help either.
