hello, don't want to strat a new topic but I'm having the exact same problem. I looked it up at a friedns house (as I thought my moniter was taost) and I heard about them 'heating up'. So I left mine on for a while and now it seems to be working. However I'm almost certain the problem will arise again after I turn it off.

can anyone help me out? It makes a popping sound as if it's trying to power up but nothing happens. after a few minutes when I press the button the screen will come up for about half a second then dissapear again (howereve the green powere light is still on on the monitor). Then after around 20 mins I pressed the power button and it worked. Like I said I'm scared that the same thing will happen when I power off.

My monitor has an external power supply (different to my PC) so I'm thinking it is unrelated to my PC settings... then again I know nothing, lol.

thanks in advance for any help

Where is the other thread about this?

Is your monitor CRT or LCD?
