Christmas is coming and i need a new monitor and im looking at a 19 inch. Somebody suggested widescreen, however i don't know the difference, and i would like to know.

I use my monitor for gaming mostly, and i think a widescreen might make it look squashed down when playing.

I have two monitors to choose from:
-Samsung 940N 19" (normal)
-Benq FP92W 19" (widescreen)

(im from australia and dont know if these brands/models are out any where else..)

It depends on personal preference, there are a lot of games which support widescreen and most new games which are released now support it aswell. Have a look here for some info on widescreen games, this shows you how the game changes and whether you lose any views:

That Benq has got some good specs btw.

I looked up cs:source, and it says it works fine. plus today i saw a mate with the benq and it looked fantastic.

Yep sure will, im upgrading to Widescreen some time.
