Default [Answered] LCD monitor trouble

Hi!

I have a strange case that noone could answer who i have asked about it: I left my LCD monitor for about an hour without screensaver , and a text from the background remained still even after i changed it...i thought it burned in but i was told that its impossible for an lcd...then the next morning it disappeared, and after the monitor is working for a while it still appears (even though it is a little faded)...i wonder what could cause this??...and ever this thing disappear totally??...or should i go to the dealer and complain about it??

Welcome to PCHF profchaos!

This is referred to as ghosting i believe on CRT's but im not sure it is possible on LCD's.

You are correct upgrader as lcd's do not contain phosphor.

Have a look here for a slight explanation.

L680 monitor delivers high-quality images at a high price

So you're saying that this is somewhat normal, and can happen occasionally? (i have read the arcticle but it is still unclear to me)...and this is not permanent?

The only thing that could have caused this, is the actual liquid crystals have lost some of it's vibrancy.

If this is the case - a new monitor is the only way to get around it.

Try turning it off for a couple of days....see if that helps it at all. Unplug it from the wall and the computer itself.

This is why screensavers exsist - even if it's just a black screen

yes thanx that may be the case, cause it happened about 3 days ago, and now it's barely visible now (or not at all, and i'm just imagining it ...i wonder if this could happen again and to tell the truth this monitor is quite new, so i even thought about bringing it back to the seller...
