My friends monitor kept shutting off then would turn on if you touched it.
Now it wont turn on at all . When you press the on button it flashes a message that it is going into power save mode. I googled the problem and most advice is it is the bios or video card, however, I took her monitor and plugged it into my computer and my notebook I still have the same problem. It flashed on the screen then shuts down in a second. then goes into power save mode.
it is a HP 20555 sh249.
I tried pressing the menu button but it shuts down too quick.

So if you've tried it using multiple PC's, there's definately something wrong with this monitor. Have you got a clue what started this to happen?

no it just went off one day, but prior to that it went off then it would turn on again after touching the monitor, now it wont turn on for more then a flash

There must be something wrong inside that monitor for sure.
I don't think we can help you with that. Is that monitor still under guarantee?

I dont think so... it is about 2 years old...I did find a place to take it for a diag fee of $95 ...so I think it might be worth trying to fix....
I can probably get a new one for about 200??
not sure what I should recommend to my friend. Any ideas?
