Angry Monitor wont come on

I just bought a barebone and hooked everything up, pushed power no signal to monitor. i will just list what ive done.
1: switched cords on monitor
2: tried 3 different all known working vid cards
3: took everything except vid card out and power
4: took mobo out placed on anti-static paper and card board
5: did the same with another mobo brand new
6: tried a different monitor
7: I also used two different power supply on all configs
8: I also tried having only the power switch connected to mobo no others i.e. reset switch, H.D.D. LED, etc.

ok the monitor power is working it just says no signal.
the power is getting to mobo because all fans on vid cards come on when i hit the power switch and the cpu fan and hdd came on when i had everything hooked up. I get no BIOS beeps either. I am completely stumped. Anyone got any ideas I haven't tried?

Thanks,

Mike

Welcome to the forum. This is truly a mystery.....

It looks like you have done everything I would have suggested, let's see if anyone else has any suggestions

Hi Mike!
Welcome to PC Helpforum!

After reading the 8 points, have you tried using the monitor on another PC?
This might not be necessary as you have tried different monitors though, anyway you could eventually try.
Are you sure this cable is connected to your mainboard?

Hi whitemiguel,

Make sure all cards are properly seated in the motherboard. Press down on all cards to ensure proper contact.
Check power supply cables to motherboard. There are two cables from the power supply to the motherboard. They should be fully connected and with the black wires together.
Remove cards one by one checking each time to see if computer beeps at all at startup. Turn the computer off between each card. Start with the modem, then sound card. Finish with the video card.
Remove all peripheral cables (HDD, FDD, etc.) and try computer again.

Barebones or not... if a monitor's not functioning right out of the box-- I'd be hunting someone down for answers . There has to be SOME warranty... where'd you buy it?

Is it an old cpu on a new motherboard? The cpu must meet the min. requirments of the motherboard. for example "a CPU with a FBS of 256 won't work on a board that requires 533 FSB"
