Hi there,

Have you tried setting first a screensaver and then have it set that your monitor turns off after X amount of time?

I personaly never bother with making my screen turn off automaticaly, but sometimes there's applications and processess that might keep your computer from going to standby because they're actively using system resources. I'd check what processess and programs are constantly running on your computer

Hope that helps a bit,

Cheers

In your power scheme have your system standby changed to never and your turn off monitor set to 5 min. System standby is much like a warm boot any contents of memory and unsaved desktop settings are lost.
