Default Am i cursed??

Helloo! Can you help? ive just built a system, xp 3000+ barton core roocessor, 1024 ddr 3200 ram and motherboard that supports it all (sorry, dont know model off hand.) It booted up ok, i went in to the bios to increase the clock multiplyer for the prosessor as when it booted up it only read as 1250, when i reset the system things went wrong. Now when i turn it on, the monitor stays in standby. everything to the mobo has power, fans are spinning, lights r on etc. I have changed the jumpers on my mobo to reset cmos but no luck, i have just taken out the battery which i will leave a while and try again with it. Any ideas if this dosent work? I had this prob before with old pc system, thats why i have just rebuilt!! I think i am cursed!!!!!

Did you use the same power supply unit in the old PC and the new one?

no mate, it is a brand new 500 watt psu, new ram, new processor, new heatsink and fan and new motherboard. The only old thing im using is the hard drive which seems to power up, but i have no O/S on it at the moment anyway so its never gone that far! Oh yes, and my case is tha same as before!!!! I think im doomed! And to think i wanted to be a pc tech once! lmao!!
