Well, I woke up one morning to get on my laptop and find my desktop all screwed up and ****py-lookin'.

My resolution is 1280x768, and I had a 1024x768 wallpaper that stretched itself and looked fine. But now it looks like the image above, all ****py-like. Also, what's with the icons? The icons are all messed up and stuff as you can see, and see to be highlighted all the time. Everything works fine, but seeing my desktop like that is just.. annoying.

Can anyone help?

Hi and welcome to PCHF.

Right click on a blank bit of the desktop and select properties > themes tab > select windows classic from the drop down list and press ok. Then repeat the process but then select Windows XP Blue from the drop down list and hit ok. It should re-set itself.
