Question Juttering scrolling and blurred text, please help

I have an advent CRT monitor. A couple of days ago i had to format my hard disk losing everything, including whatever it was that was keeping my monitor working. Now when i try to scroll, in internet explorer, firefox, word or anything else for that matter it jutters, like skips a bit then shows me a still image of one part of the page and then a still image of the next bit of the page. The other thing is that the text in the middle of the monitor is blurred, agen thats all the time, please help me as this is driving me crazy!! Im hoping its the same problem but i suspect that the scrolling issues are to do with the refresh rate, (which i can t change in the display options by the way) and the blurred text mebe something else. Please help, thank you in advance. Chris

Hi Chris , welcome to PCHF.

Sounds like you didn't install youre video driver. Did you install any drivers at all?

If you need help finding correct drivers then please post youre system specs here , if you don't know youre system specs then you can use one of these apps to find out:

Can you also post the make/model of your video card for us.

The link Joe5 provided can help you find the details.

This would be the driver you need for the vga card:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_81.95.html

But first you need to install youre motherboards driver , for that i need more info.

There is an model number between "Gigabyte" and "rz" , rz is only a series number.
