Default monitor flashing

hello im back
dunno if this is in right place sorry if its not.

my monitor keeps flashing. it goes black for about 1 second then comes back :icon_scra

it does it about every 10 mins when im like on the net or something but when im on a game it does it every 10 seconds lol.
its annoying any ideas what it can be?

It could be a couple of things:

Try changing your monitor refresh rate, set it to either 60 or 75 and see if it helps. Go to your display properties to change it.

Try and change your resolution to something like 800x600 and see if it happens as often.

Otherwise the next time it happens try and slap the side of your monitor and see whether it flicks back on. (if so then you probably have a dry joint)

Lastly it could be a problem with your video card.

Could also be a bad connector/connection, although it won't do it frequently.
I think there is not but there could be a magnetic field close to your monitor.

EDIT: Last thing very small chance of causing this problem..

LCD monitors or CRT?

If it's LCD...magnetic fields won't effect it at all, but if it's a crt, again i doubt this - it would most likely cause greenness and concave edges.

it most likely could be the video card, try reinstalling your drivers, or get newer ones.

hi m8 i have the same prob my monitor flashes for a second when i search web if playing a game no prob sometimes it reboots it self after the flicker it a real pain in the but refresh rate 72 tryed lower and higher than 72 but same prob so im thinking psu or grafic card tryed a different monitor but same..grafic card i have is a xfx force 6200 512mb
