Default [Answered] Laptop Screen trouble

Hi, I own a Compaq Presario 2100 laptop and for some reason today the colors on the plasma screen got kind of crazy on me. The turquoise on my screen developed spots of some sort and lines of lighter shades. It's almost as if my computer was tripping on acid! The weird thing is that it's not all the time, it'll go from being normal to having the weird spots, to being normal, etc etc. I don't know if it's because the screen is wearing out, or if it's about to burn out... is that even possible with a laptop?? I leave my laptop on a lot of the time (since I'm in college it kind of doubles as my stereo, too), could that have something to do with the problem as well??

Hi laura-in-hawaii

I apologise that you haven't had a response to this question previously and understand you may never read this post. However, I will endeavour to answer your question.

This problem sounds very much related to a overheating issue. The CPU of the laptop is normally located at the top (where the keyboard ends and the monitor begins). This would mean that as the cpu warms up, the monitor is being effected quite harshley...unfortunately there isn't alot you will be able to do about it without voiding any sort of warranty/further damaging the laptop.

I'd suggest taking it to a local HP authorised repair centre and getting them to look at it for you.

Marked as Answered - if you have any queries please ask them and i will answer them for you. If you read this post.
