I'm about to buy a new lcd monitor, i was going to buy a cheaper one with a VGA connection only, but it would be handy to be able to connect my Pioneer dvd player to the monitor.

How do i do this? My DVD player has all the usual connectors, do i need a more expensive monitor with dvi connection?

If your monitor does not have a 'video in' or SCART connector you can't connect these devices.

A monitor that will work is for example the LG M203WX

DVD players with DVI out are difficult to find (And quite expensive).

I think you need to search for a monitor with SCART connector in, this is very easy to connect and configure and good quality.

There are some that have s-video in.. But none that I know of that have composite video (high def) in. You would have to get an extra set of RCA audio and plug them into the mic port or somthing.
