Default [Fixed] Change Monitor Assignments?

Hello:

I'm running dual monitors -one is the built-in Intel 82810e with 64M memory, the other is a cheapie PCI card with only 4M of memory. During setup, Windows (xp) says you must assign the PCI card as Primary (#1).

This is just the reverse of what I need: Monitor #2 would do fine with the 4M PCI card, but now since it is forced to be the primary, all my programs look terrible!

Is there a way to assign more memory to the PCI card, or is there a way to reverse the assigments? Obviously, I'm trying to get out of having to buy another expensive PCI video card.

Thanks for any help...

Garry

There is no way of assigning more memory to the pci card but you can add more memory to the onboard video... you can go into your bios and tell it to use onboard first...see if that works

Interesting, but your statement..."go into the bios"...assumes I know a whole lot more about computers than I do.

In a HP Pavilion (7940), how does one do such a thing?? I mean in details, not generalities.

OK reboot your PC.. and press F1 repeadelty... untill the BIOS screen show's up... There will be the time and some tabs..As I dont know your particular motherboard.. you will have to look around a little using the tabs at the top of the screen and look for video options usually under advanced... If look there will be either PCI or onboard... Click on it and make sure ONboard video is first.
