Default can you use a tv as a monitor?

hi everyone

i was wondering if there was a way to connect your tv to a pc and use it as a monitor.
if this is possible could someone please reply with details on how to do so.

Sure you can if you have an S-Video port in the back of your soundcard. Just get an S-Video to scart lead...or S-Video to S-Video if your TV has an S-Video port

i did as recommended and bought a S-Video to S-Video lead which i tried to connected to my laptop yet when i turn on my tv i cant see the screen. does anyone know how i should make the screen image appear on the tv?

In youre VGA driver software there should be a setting to select 2 display's , see if you can find it and otherwise post the model of youre VGA card and someone here might be able to help you find it.

Your laptop will have a function to allow you to toggle between different display outputs (usually this is Fn + F8 together).

:-D Hey there redfelt,

It's the same process. It doesn't matter whether the video in and out is coming out of a laptop or a PC. But you are going to need another S-video to S-video for your PC. Also, PC's are not usually set up for dual monitors. You may need a switch or adapter.
