This is not my PC, its my aunts. Here's the problem. The screen started blanking out a couple weeks ago. Then now, the thing unexpectely quit. The monitor light is on, I can hear Windows start up, but the screen is black. I tried to press that little button on the monitor, but the clouor changes from orange to green, than back to orange. I took out the video card and cleaned the gold connectors with a cloth, then suddenly the screen appeared. I' suspecting a videocard problem. Ideas anyone?

I think you have probably got it - could well be a vid card problem.

One thing you could try...(and it may seem really simple) is to unplug the monitor from the wall (power) for a minute then plug it back in again. This often works with even new dell monitors I have found.
