Sorry, what I meant was the model number of the PC, but after reading through the thread again, I realized that this is a home made PC. Thus no model number.

I think the safest way to make sure you are getting the correct RAM, is to use Belarc. Please download and run Belarc from my signature, it should give you a very detailed list of what is on your PC, including the RAM.

Post back with the memory specs, and we can try to find you a good deal.

I'm sorry Crusher, that just doesn't seem to be giving us the info that we need. I can't imagine why the RAM isn't listing. Give this a try.

Yes, then that would indicate those were the correct RAM for your MOBO, and you should get another to max out your PC at 512.

I'm sorry, I think that was the link that you posted before, and I mistook it for the suggestion from another user. My bad.

If the crucial wizard brought up that RAM it should be compatible if not the same as what you have currently in your PC.

One more thing. You probably are not doing the basic maintenance on your PC, and I would recommend that you take care of the following if you expect the PC to do a good job for you for one more year, and they won't cost you any money at all.

• Get CCleaner, if you don't already have it, from my signature,
• Get RegSupremePro, also in my sig, it is a paid program but it has a free fully functioning trial that should be fine to clear out your registry in preparation for being used another year.
• You need to do all of your critical updates by going to Microsoft Windows Update
• Defrag your PC, here is a tool that does the job much faster and more effectively than the built in defragger from Microsoft.
• Finally, back up all of your critical data, you are using an older PC, and you want to make sure that your important things are protected. Auslogics Disk Defrag.
