Question 4GB RAM With Windows XP Pro 64bit??
Could any of you experts advise me whether there are any issues in having 4GB RAM with Windows XP Pro 64bit?

Just about to buy a workstation with Windows XP Pro 64bit and would like to know what's the maximum amount of RAM reccommended without causing problems

Hello Ken,there should be no problems with running a 64 bit OS with 4 gig of RAM.

The full 4 gig should be reconised due to the fact you will be running the 64 bit OS.

Thanks Jellybean. So it's safe to press the buy button?? I'm only hesitant as its a worskstation costing £949 which is a shedload, especially as I'm a student

It is a lot of money to spend I admit that.

It should be fine,if all the RAM is not reconised then there maybe an issue.Once it is delivered I would just check all your hardware/software if all is looking good you should be fine.

Always check new equipment on buying or delivery.

Having trouble identifying what motherboard it would be. Sorry for being so useless. The best I can tell you is that it's a Dell Precision T3400 workstation off their website, with a number of upgrades
