Default ACPI BSOD after upgrading RAM

hi there.
i recently got 2 ram sticks for my pc - both samsung 1gb DDR333
meaning both are the same model number and whatever.

anyways when i put both sticks together i get a BSOD as soon as windows tries to load up saying something like "your bios version is no ACPI compliant, please upgrade to a newer bios version blablabla also advising me to turn ACPI off if i cant upgrade".

if i use one stick it works fine, it shows the BSOD just with two sticks.
So anyway...first i want to know what the hell does this ACPI mean lol ? i have absolutely no idea...second what should i do ? turn off the ACPI or just flash my bios to a newer version (i currently have the version that came with my PC). Also why does it happen with the two sticks but not with one ?

thx.

P.S i have an MSI PT8 Neo-SR/ LSR MOBO
if that helps

Default Re: ACPI BSOD after upgrading RAM

Hey dude, there should be no other memory installed on this PC.

Plus this board only supports a max of 2gb. If 1gb sticks are installed, they should be placed in slots 0 and 2, however MSI recommend that these should be installed in sticks of 4 x 512mb.

BIOS update won't help in this case, as the only memory updates available provide stability and support for the newer DDR433, DDR450 and TwinMos modules.

EDIT: Marked as Answered.
