Default Samsung DDR2 667MHz 2x2GB Memory not recognised
Hi,

I have a recently bought 2x2GB Samsung DDR2 PC 5300 667Mhz memory sticks.
When I tried to install them on the motherboard (Foxconn 946GZ7MA 1.1 8KRS2H) the pc does not boot - no beeps either. There is however, power to the pc - fan comes on.
I have updated the BIOS from the Foxconn website and have tried placing each memory module in each slot together and seperately, without any luck.
I have not made any changes to the BIOS other than the version update.

When I put the old 1GB stick in it boots up fine. This is also DDR2 PC5300 memory.

I cannot think of anything else to do, other than try to return the memory sticks.

I've searched this and other forums and not getting anywhere.

Any help would be appreciated.

Is the particular size (capacity) and part number of the new RAM listed on Foxconn's QVL listing??

The 2GB Samsung sticks I have are not listed. However, my BIOS version is later than the one this is for ... mine is 642F1P44.

According to the Foxconn website, all the newer BIOS does is fix a problem with your board running the FoxOne application. It doesn't address adding new RAM to the OVL list.
