just something i didn't mention the original memory has components on both side of the board the new one is only on one side. Don't know if this is of any relevance.
I got my replacement memory today and exactly the same problem no extra memory is recognised and if i replace my original card my pc does not boot just beeps I can only assume that this is not the correct type of memory. The memory they sent me for my motherboard is PC2100 checking with another supplier (crucial) and listing my motherboard details they list a PC2700 so i am completely confused
