Hello.

A 32 bit opertaing system only reconises 3.25 RAM/Memory hence you have only 3.25 showing in your system.

A 64 bit OS reconises more.

Not realy,You dont have to have Vista.

XP Home and Pro are 32 bit operating systems although XP Pro also comes in a 64 bit operating system.

Vista comes in 32 bit and 64 bit.

So your choice is XP Pro 64 bit or Vista 64 bit?

So cheaper option and you like XP is XP Pro 64 bit.

Your welcome.

So you can keep XP and have all your RAM reconised.

Great.

Going Vista is probably the more viable option, as Windows XP will be getting phased out soon. So you'd be upgrading within the next few years
