how much ram can windows xp use?

XP 32 bit reconises 3.25 gig RAM.

A 64 bit OS reconises a lot more.

Officially - 4GB. Can be exceeded, but I doubt there would be any real gain by doing this.

Would also depend on your hardware (motherboard, processor etc)

dont thik mines xp 32 bit?

On thing says Windows xp home edition oem. so it take 3 gig still?

It would also depend on how much your MOBO can support?

ie. My ASUS Santiago can only support up to 2GB

Correct apple if your mainboard only supports 1 or 2 gigs then adding 3 gigs will not be reconised.

Well spotted apple.

You have 2 x 1 gig and 1 512 mb?

Put the 512 nearest CPU and then put in the 1 gigs next see if it boots.Some boards support mixed RAM some dont.
