Default Ddr2 Ram

Well I have got on my custom built pc DDR2 ram , thing is I have a 1 gig amount of ram , is this doubled or what exactly is happening.

Not much a problem but that the difference in DDR AND DDR2 , since my board has a 4gb limit of ram , and i dont want to go over it by putting to much ram on it.

Hello Bindo, how's the floppy drive going?

I've read this a couple of times, and I can't see an actual problem described here. Are you just worried about adding more RAM?

If you have the cash to add 4gb of RAM, then go for it, but many don't use any more than 2gb. It also depends of what version of Windows your actually running as well. If your running XP, then Windows will only be able to fully utilise the first 3gb.

One: Your Motherboard won't support or use more than it's maximum.
two: Windows XP does not "see" more than 3.5 Gigs--unless it is a 64-bit version... hardware can use the rest-- but for basic operation it's a waste.

DDR means Double Data Rate-- the rate of file-transfer is faster-- it does not mean you have twice the RAM.
DDR2 is the "second generation" of this trick.
