Not usually-- but if there are 2 slots-- I presume the one stick is in slot 1 (or A) ??
Is your PC producing minidump files?
If so try to find several of the most recent --and upload them.
MadMonkey is our resident Blue Screens of Death analyst-- he might be able to track exactly what is causing the issue.
He knows those Windows bugcheck programs-- but it usually takes several minidumps to pin it down...

How would I find the minidump files? The stick of RAM was initiallty in slot one, then tried in slot two and no difference at all.

Found them!

All these were in the Minidump folder and they all occured during the problems last night,

Hello Jose, welcome to PCHF.

Can you go to My Computer, Control Panel, System, Hardware tab, followed by Device Manager. From here click on View, followed by Resources by connection. Under the category of Interrupt Request (IRQ), please can you tell me what hardware (normally a PCI device), is operating on IRQ 18?
