Hello and welcome to PC Help Forum.

Firstly try one stick of RAM at a time.Put on stick in and reboot see what happens.Do this for each one but only as a single stick nearest CPU.

Can you run Belarc.com advisor and go to your user CP and fill in your computer specifications please.Giving full make model number of your mainboard.Thankyou.

As far as I can tell this board needs matching RAM sticks. You need to remove the 512 stick.
MemoryTwo DDR SDRAM Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) socketsSupport for DDR 400 MHz and DDR 333 MHz DIMMsSupport for up to 2 GB of system memory

Test each stick individualy please.

i had it tested 1 at a time and the ram is detected but seems to me the booting does not continue cause i do not see the usual thing that happen when the 512 ram is in place. the 512 ram is single sided and 1gb is double sided. when 512 ram is in place "memory freq. ddr 400 single channel is enabled" but when 1gb is installed i do not see that message after memory test on start up boot
