I understand your frustration. I will do my best and work with other team members to help resolve this issue. Do you have another computer you can test them together in?

No I only have this desktop and a crummy old laptop. Looking on the web, read an article saying that if the RAM sticks having a different number of chips with varying amounts than this is a problem, and a possible reason for not working.

The new RAM sticks has 8 chips, each 124MB big whereas the other stick has 16 chips each 64MB so is there a possible communication error ?

Thing I just dont understand is that On Everest it says the Physical Memory is only 1022MB but when you look in the Memory section at SDB or whatever its called it shows both sticks, being DIMM1 and DIMM2, with the only difference being there serial numbers.

Its as if they are simply not being registered as one memory source.....

But im still pretty clueless, I appreciate all the help so far!

can you try doing a BIOS update? If you do, be very careful and follow the directions exactly, and get the newest version for your EXACT motherboard model, or it can mess it up big time. Do you know anyone whoes computer you can use to test it in?

No , no one else around with free computer, rather not do a BIOS update, probs mess it up! Must be some logical reason surely, or should I simply order another stick of the newer RAM so I have two identical?
