Default 2gb usb stick

k i bought a 2 gb usb flash memory stick thinking i could download songs to it directly to and sortoff fill it up instead of the memory on my pc . ( i know its not a large amount)

this is fine but i am only receiving 1.85 gb available memory. the other memory is taken up by "U3 system software... read only "E drive""

Can i remove this "U3 system software" and have the memory stick function properly....

also... once the files are in the Usb device i cannot get windows media playuer to automatically find these files and have them available in the library... i press F3 to allocate the usb device "F:/" as the source location but it wont register....

help

can u also help me with this.. the idea was to have the music on the 2gb flash stick (as the source) and play from there..
however windows media player will only let me sync the music to the stick.. not play from it.. when i remove the music files from my C:/

any suggestions?? cheers

Opps, sorry had to check up.
Yes you can run files from your flash stick, but you'd have to run them manually
for example
Youd have to go to My Computer
select your flash drive
then double click the song you wish to play.

The reason i post back is to help and to keep you from Limewire's media player, its HORRIBLE.

I bought the same flash drive last night. I will keep U3 on it, because i like to be able to carry Firefox with me. IT doesnt take up too much space too
