Default matching memory dual channeling

Hi

on my pc i have

AMD Athlon 64x2 dual core processor 4200+ 2.20 GHz

i have 2 x 1GB stick of matching samsung DDR sticks in the first 2 slots of memory slots on the mother board,,i do have an extra stick of memory in the 3 rd slot but was wondering how would i go about dual channeling the first 2 memory sticks as there both matching and would it make much difference?

im unsure where to go to find out if im 32 bit or 64 haha
or does the answer lye here AMD Athlon 64X2 ??lol

Take out the third stick and the two matching sticks will become dual channel if they support the feature

ok i am able to dual channel

so heres my next question

im 32 Bit system so is it better to keep all the 3 memory sticks in or remove the 3rd n double the first two?

Whether you're in 32 or 64bit won't change how many stick you can have.. It only means that Windows can't address more then 3Gbs (although being able to use +4Gbs isn't the only benefits to 64bit). If you want dual channel you can only have a maximum of 2 sticks in the slots.

ok,but would you dual channel the matching 2 sticks or just stay as u was with 3 x 1gb sticks?
