Default Memory assistance

Hi, my name is Travis and I recently upgraded my sons computer with 2GB of memory. However, in order to do that I had to remove the standard 512MB memory stick that was in it. I would like to use that memory and put it in my computer. My computer currently has 512MB of RAM. The memory stick I removed was from an emachines desktop model W3619 and the label on the memory stick shows it is 512MB PC2-4200. My computer is a Sony Vaio desktop model PCV-RZ34G. According to what I read, my computer has 4 banks that can hold up to 512MB in each bank for 2GB max. Can I add the removed memory stick from my sons computer and use it in mine? Thanks

I'm not 100% sure. The sticker on the removed 512MB stick says 512MB 1RX8 PC2-4200U-444-12. It doesn't say whether it is DDR or DDR2. However, I checked a Best Buy memory link and it recommended DDR2 for the e-machine and I out my model in on another memory website and it says I need DDR memory. Still confused?
