Hi,
I have just upgraded from 2gb of DDR400 (PC3200)
ram to 4gb. I now have 4x1gb modules installed, but my BIOS, as well as Windows XP and Vista Ultimate are all showing that I have only got 2.75gb installed. I have just updated the BIOS of my DFI Lanparty UT NF Ultra-D
mobo, even though it says in the manual that it supports up to 4gb of DDR 400. This made no difference. The strange things is, that when I have 3 modules installed in any combination (moving the sticks into different slots and also using different combinations of old and new
ram), the computer refuses to boot. If I have 1 module installed, I have the same problem. If I have 2 modules installed (which is what i had up to now), in any of the slots there are no problems, so the BIOS, XP and Vista all recognise the full 2gb. But if I install all 4, as I stated before, it only shows as 2.75gb.
Anyone got any thoughts on what the problem could be? If it's any use, I'm running an Athlon 64 X2 4800+ and a geforce 7950x2 graphics card.
Cheers
