My Dell Dimension 4600 got fried. I also have a Dell Dimesion 4300 and would like to use some of the memory from the 4600 to the 4300.
Would the DDR SDRAM from the 4600 work on 4300 (uses SRAM)?
Thanks.
ek, the 4600 uses DDR PC2700's, the 4300 uses SDRAM PC133's . These are completely different and incompatible RAM types, and won't even fit into the slots. You would need to buy PC-133 SDRAM DIMM's for the 4300.

IF you could find them... I just gave a stick of that away LOL
But seriously-- RAM is rarely cross-compatible. The motherboards would have to be almost exactly the same... definitely not across several years. RAM is constantly being modififed as the gamers/video-editors/overclockers demand ever-higher performance from all their components.
