Memory - still reading old ram? posted in the Hardware forums; I just got my ram upgrade But its saying it still has the old setup, and yet it feels faster >.> little help ?...

Default still reading old ram?

I just got my ram upgrade

But its saying it still has the old setup, and yet it feels faster >.>

little help ?

1. What version of Windows do you have?

2. When you say "its saying", where does it say this?

3. Are you sure that the memory strips are properly seated into their sockets?

4. Was the RAM upgrade a replacement of the old RAM or an addition to the old RAM?

1. Media XP 2006

2. when I go to my comp props, to view system info

3. Yes

4. It was a replacement, there was a 126 and a 512, I replaced the 126 with a anthor 512

Recommend you enter the BIOS (during boot up) and select the restore factory settings (or words to that effect), then save on exit.
