Well nothing happens when you "run out of memory." Your OS will just pull data off the hard drive when it needs it and your computer will just slow down cause the HD is slower than memory.

Your problems seem pretty specific. Again, I doubt you have hardware problems. If you want, you can click my pre-work link, follow the instructions, and start a thread in the HijackThis! Logs section in this forum. One of our security staff can check for infections.

Hey guys, I just joined this formed for this specific reason on my pc. I have a very similar problem and I believe relates to the memory. Mine however, only happens after my pc is left on for 2+ hours. After that time period, if I have just three windows open of various applications including IE, explorer, etc. then my right click doesn't work (just like the original poster's problem). The menu simply does not appear. But as soon as I close one of those applications (and some memory is exhausted I suppose), the right click works just fine. In other words, I can really only have 1-2 apps running until I restart my computer.
Here is a screenshot of one problem that occurs after my computer is left on too long. (In Photoshop.) Also, at this point in time, my right click didn't work.

EDIT: If you didn't notice, all of the new document options are missing

Another error that sometimes appears in Photoshop is that I have insufficient memory.

I have 4gb of memory in my system (4*1gb ddr) and I am currently testing each one individually to see if the problem remains. So far I've tried two with no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

PS - And no, running Vista has nothing to do with this because I had the same problems with XP just a few months back.

Howdy doohuh and welcome to PCHF,

Yours does not seem to be a ram thing as you say you have 4 gigs of ram and not to much out there that can use that much ram now a days..

Could you download speedfan from my signature and take a screenshot of your temps and voltages..
I am going to guess it is heat related as it happens after 2 hours.

Although next time you would be better off Starting a new subject for yourself. As this thread is 3 weeks old and we might not see it..But its fine for now

Sure thing. Here it is:

I'm sure you know what you're looking at, but I just wanted to point out that if I reboot my computer at any time - no matter how long its been on for - everything runs fine for that first couple of hours.

I would suggest you turn of your pc now.. Your going to start melting your cpu...127c is almost melting temps.. This is def your problem....I would open my case and see if any dust is all over.. Let it rest awhile and let the side stay off and see if you can go longer than 2 hours..

For example my cpu temp is 31c right now..
Do you have any fans or heatsink on your cpu?

Also your Voltages from your power supply are horible.. you have almost no power running the pc..1 +12v is running fine the other is on its last leg

My god that's hot. And ya, I have a heat sink over the cpu. Right now I have the case open and if feels like there's very little air flow leaving the cpu fan. I've had this problem for a long time now, you don't think I ruined the cpu do you?
