I need to get 1gb of ram...i have 1gb now but i need 1 more because the game im playing is lagging...i want to know if it matters what i get. i dont know if it matters where or what i buy...there r too different kinds...they are all different prices...ill link them please tell me what i should get.

First off...you need to find what type and speed of memory your unit uses. You can do this by going to the manufacturers website of your computer and checking the specifications for your computer. This is usually found at some sort of support link at the manufacturers website.

Once you know what speed your computer uses, then check to make sure you can in fact add another gigabyte of memory. If it is an older unit, it might be capped at 1 gigabyte. That information should also be found where you find the speed and type of memory you have.

The next thing you need to do is check inside your computer to see how many available memory slots you have. If you have 2 memory slots with 2 sticks of 512 megabytes and your maximum memory is 2 gigabytes,, then to upgrade to 2 gigabytes, you'll actually have to buy 2 gigabytes of memory and trash (or sell/keep) the old sticks.

Hi Wadd.

How do you "know" you need more RAM ? Did you temporarily borrow another 1GB and made sure that this cured the game lag ?

You may need a more powerful graphics card instead.
