Hi folks,
I am going to upgrade my RAM. I currently have 1 gig of DDR 2 at what i THINK is 800mhz or 1066mhz. I ran a test on Pcpitstop and it said my memorys speed clocked in at 10445 mb/s. So what speed RAM would this indicate I have? Next, say i do have 800mhz DDR 2 RAM and i purchased 2 more gigs of ddr2 at 1066mhz, what will happen? Will it slow the 1066 mhz down to 800mhz or what? If so should i take out the 1 gig of 800mhz and just stick with 2 gigs at 1066mhz. Or is it better to have 3gigs with mixed speeds? I appreciate any help, thanks!

Hi-- welcome to PCHF.
RAM is not something to guess at--in my sig-- at the bottom of this window ... you'll see a link to a RAM upgrade scanner. It's at Crucial.com-- you don't have to buy from them, but they guarantee the RAM will be correct.
The RAM can only run as fast as the motherboard allows-- don't waste your money.
Run the scanner and write down the RAM speed. Simple.
