Default Help with my RAM...PLEASE

hi on my laptop i have 256Mb ram which is not very good so i want to upgrade to this 1gb Microdirect.co.uk is the UK leading retailer of quality computer components and electronics. have two qusetions
1:can i buy two 512mb rams and then that will be more than a 1 gb (its also cheaper)
2:do you have to buy certain rams to upgrade or can you use any rams on any laptops.

Do an online scan. It will will tell you what's possible etc

ok but are these the only ones i can get for my laptop...so i can't just go down to pc world and grab any 1gb RAM i have to have these Computer memory upgrades for Acer TravelMate 2410 Laptop/Notebook from Crucial.com i don't get it sorry but why can i only have these ones.please explain

Your link in your reply descibes the type of memory that is compatible with your system, DDR2 PC2-4200 or DDR2 PC2-5300. These are standard memory types and if you quote them to your local supplier he will provide them and I'm sure help with installation.

Also on the site you will see the various options you have.
