I have purchased Intel MOBO DG965RY and Crucial Ballistix memory (2 X 1GB). The MOBO is 1.8V and memory 2.2V. I have purchased Inel E2140 CPU. Both Newegg and Crucial say they are compatible on their web sites. Are they? Will my first time build work? Work efficiently?

We need a little more info on the RAM to be certain-- though I have never seen Crucial make an error--they actually guarantee compatibility if you use their scantool. You could not-- since you haven't built it yet.

The speed of the RAM is actually the determining factor--
so what is it ? DDR2 800? (aka PC 3200) 667? (PC5300) 533? (PC4200) --any of these will fit-- the 800 is the fastest-- that mobo actually supports (up to) 8 GIGS of RAM-- which is a very large amount-- I can't imagine needing that much... unless you are editing huge videos, or something...

That processor is also supported

The Ram is DDR2 800 (PC6400). Also the latency of the RAM is 4-4-4-12, the Motherboard specs is 5-5-5 or 6-6-6 if that makes a difference. Crucial has a tool on thie site where you can input your Motherboard and it lists all the compatible memory, which mine was one of. Intel does not list this RAM under their tool for "approved" RAM for this MOBO.

Yessir-- but I would trust Crucial-- as I said I've never had an issue with Crucial's RAM or reccomendations-- Intel itself probably does not update their compatibilty lists all that often...the tool is only as good as the database-- where a vendor is pushing things as far as they will go-- so they can sell more. Crucial would not risk their good rep on a bad call.
