A few days ago my 82 year-old aunt asked me to help her with her computer. Upon start-up, there were 4 beeps followed by 2 beeps. Never started beyond that. Her computer was a Dell Deimension 4700. I suspected a hardware problem. Contacted Dell support. They asked me to start at the computer and check the "abcd" lights on the back. Looked and ab were amber and cd were green. Tech help suggested removing memory and reseating them. I opened the computer (first time ever done), reseated the memory and restarted the computer. Booted normally; abcd lights all green. Interesting that the memory problem finally happened after a few years of use, not the first week or so.
Wow, that is amazing, usually Dell are only able to open their PC's due to warranty being voided, but never the less they gave you top support IMO, and you got the problem sorted.
