Hey saphcasmike,

Can you try inserting just one of the 128's (711's), and then try the other. Does it start?

I can't see why it wouldn't accept the 711's... the motherboard is supposed to. What normally happens is that the 800's will be reduced to the lowest speed in the set so that they all run at 711. Either the motherboard is not doing this or one or both of the RAM sticks is faulty.

Unhappy

Hello,

My computer is a Packard Bell 1.3Ghz Pentium 4,128Mb RAM and 40Gb Hard drive. I purchased this back in 2000 and to date have had no problems with it. I do look after it, running scan disc and defrag regularly. I delete cache weekly and all cookies, its running squeeky clean. All I would like to do is up the RAM to speed the programs up 'a lot'. I will try putting each one in by themselves tomorrow and if that fails I might try and get some 800's. It must work, it's got to

thanks for your help so far.........

Hello, yes I managed to install just the 2x 128Mb PC711's, the computer refused to fire up. I bought 2x PC800-45 64Mb Samsung sticks and put them in as well as my own and all 4x64Mb's worked. The computer picked them up straight away. So I then spent a bit more money and got hold of Samsung 2x256Mb PC800-45 RAM sticks and put them in and left the other 2x64's in and it's working sweet. So my computer does not like PC711's.

All sorted now, just got it together yesterday!!!

Thanks........
