To a lot of people this might be a easy one, but not for me. I want to know what Ram is needed for in a Computer. I currently have 504mb and I want to upgrade. So could someone tell me what Ram dose to your computer. Thanks!

Im not much of a Computer guy so the most i can tell you is that It's a Gateway m460 Notebook. It has a Intel Pentium M. 1.73 GHz and 795 MGz I don't know what all that means, but i hope it's enough for you to help me.

Also 504 Mb RAm and Windows Xp Pro.
