well... considering i dont hahve any cooling on m yram, just the Fans.. ah well. I cant even take the FSB up 3 mhz to 150, because it is unstabke at anything higher than 147. maybe the lack of bandwith is just the probably poor memory controller in the SiS735 chipset.

Yeah... it's probably the AGP4x causing a bottleneck-- you can only push it so far...

after the BIOS update, Fastwrites now works. That is suppposed to enhance the AGP4x speed isnt it?

It's a bit much for me to explain-- nor is my understanding complete. But from what I can find -- AGP 4X does not use fastwites very well-- thats why 8X and PCI express were created.
AGP was created in 1997 -- ten years ago. In the evolution of video cards-- it's just obsolete. You can only cram so much data into a skinny pipe. Want more answers?... you can find them:

i see... is there any way to speed up the AGP bus without damaging the system? my grpahics card supports up to AGP8. because the system is older, and the highest setting hte mobo supports is 4x with fastwrites, doesnt that mean the 4x should be sufficient?

The 4X is all the board supports-- I believe that this is hard coded and cannot be changed.
You might be able to software OC the V-card--
