Default 2 Gig Of Ram Problem!!!!!!!! Help

I have 2 gigs of RAM on my mother board right now, but when I right click on 'My Computer' it say's that I only have 1.00 GB installed; it also states that in 'DXDIAG'.. I dont know what the problem is, I have the 2' 1 GB of RAM (x2) installed on my mother board perfectly fine snapped in place.. I have a' P4P800 SE Asus MotherBoard with 4 RAM slots, 2 of them are blue; and the other 2 are black (or brown). Both of my RAM sticks are snapped into the blue slot's of course. I've tryed going into BIOS but I dont really know where the memory stuff are at or what they would be named, I'm thinkin' that one of the sticks is disabled but I just dont know how to edit all that and enable them. I got 2' 1 Gig each, PC3200 CL3 DDR RAM. I don't think any of them are blown because they do not have signs of burt marks or anything. Do any of you guys know what the problem is???

Heya Lazybone, welcome to the PCHF

There's no option in the BIOS to enable or disable any particular memory slots. Not on desktop motherboards at any rate.

Can you please try moving them to the brown slots and give that a try?

PS. I like ezybone better...but you know...each to their own

Yea i've tryed to put them into the brown slots, but my computer only reads one of them PLUS my computer was even slower on the brown slots, so I had to move them back into the blue ones. Do you think anything else is causing this problem? My computer still reads 1.00 GB of RAM and I still dont know what the problem is

Hi layzie, sorry for the late reply.

I'm not sure what could be causing this - I'd suggest trying an update of your BIOS.
